I have been reading about fake process servers around the US. Apparently there are many and many different types. This has become an epidemic not only in the US but across the globe. There are two types of fake process servers. Ones who do not attempt service and receive funds for serving the paper or receive funds for the non est paper. The other type of fake process server is the ones who show up to older people houses claim to be process servers with a law firm and can settle your case for a nominal fee. These people are not process servers. Theses are people attempting to scam innocent people into giving them money they do not owe to anyone. Never give a process server any money or items, just take the papers and contact your counsel or attorney.
